What’s Wrong With The Rankings…

The following was written, designed and created by Katie’s Dad.

Reasons why Alabama should be ranked above Ohio State.

  1. Big Ten played 2 non-conference games against CFP Top 25. SEC played 7 non-conference games against CFP Top 25.

  2. The combined record of teams Ohio State beat was 62 wins and 70 losses. The combined record of teams Alabama beat was 62 wins and 57 losses.

  3. Ohio State was 2 wins and 1 loss against CFP Top 25. Alabama was 2 wins and 2 losses against CFP Top25.

  4. Ohio State beat a Notre Dame team in the first game of the season and Penn State later in the season. The next week, Notre Dame lost at home to Marshall. Notre Dame changed quarterbacks, became a different team, and won 8 of their last 10 games. Penn State did not beat a team ranked in the CFP Top 25. In fact, Penn State lost by 13 and 24 points to the two CFP Top 25 teams they played. Penn State had a 10- 2 record, but 6 of the wins were against teams with a losing record. How can Penn State be ranked 8th in the CFP Top 25?

  5. Alabama was 2 wins and 2 losses against CFP Top25. The 2 wins were against Texas (8-4) and Mississippi State (8-4). Alabama’s two losses were by a total of 4 points on the last play of the game on the road to Tennessee (10-2) and LSU (9-3).

  6. Ohio State lost to Michigan at home by 22 points.

  7. In conclusion, Alabama should be ranked above Ohio State. Ohio State’s 22 point loss to Michigan at home is more of a negative factor than Alabama’s two losses by a total of 4 points on the road on the last play of the game. In addition,it is more difficult to go 10-2 in the SEC than to go 11-1 in the Big Ten.
